Dedicated to the memory of Shilpa Parmar

This site is a tribute to Shilpa Parmar, who was born in London on February 23, 1974. Shilpa was the heart and soul of our family and will be missed and remembered by all.

Earlier this year Shilpa was admitted to hospital, her diagnosis was grim and heartbreaking. After 2 very lonely months in hospital she was moved to St Luke's hospice for her final days as the hospital felt there was nothing further they could do for her medically. Little did they know that our Shilpa was a fighter. To the immense credit of St Luke's hospice and through the dedication of Shilpa's mum and dad not only did Shilpa start becoming more conscious but she started to recover, day by day. She started eating, she was able to look at us, she made it back into her wheelchair. It was a miracle in every sense. On July 31st Shilpa came back home to us, where she belonged.

Once Shilpa was home our family was once again complete, she grew from strength to strength, flourishing at home with her family. Sadly we had little more than 10 weeks until her health started to decline. With the incredible support of St Luke's hospice we were able to care for Shilpa at home, where she's always wanted to be. They supported us through every step, not only did they bring her back to us earlier this year but were now supporting us during this difficult time. Had it not been for St Luke's and the palliative care team and the district nurses we would not have been able to support Shilpa the way she deserved.

Shilpa fought bravely until her last breath, as always showing us what real strength was and making us so proud. She saw all her loved ones before she took her last breath.
